Due to the current economy, you have a wide range of qualified candidates to select from. You must screen them thoroughly and conduct detailed interviews. Be sure to discuss the local IT consultant's methodology and make sure you are in agreement with them. There is no point of hiring someone that cannot fit into your organization. Once you have identified your local IT consultant, make sure to have a solid contract in place. The contract should cover intellectual property and confidentiality agreement.
